I guess the purpose of this page is to gloat just a little. For those of you who haven't ever been lucky enough to see us up here (it's only natives of the northern hemisphere who think we're 'Down Under' - we're actually on top) and we believe ... in fact we know Australia is the best place in the world. Put this into a '4x4' perspective and our case only gets stronger !
Being an island the size of the continental USA but inhabited by less than 20 million people we have got room. Lots of it. We also have the characteristics of lemmings because just about all of us are crammed around the edge of the continent and on the verge of falling in. This is a good thing for off-roaders as all the more room to play in and believe me there are a lot of city folk who become country folk every chance they get. Yes some of us actually believe that 4x4's are meant to get dirty. Go figure.
The piece of real estate I inhabit is called Brisbane and is the capital (big smoke) of Queensland. Thats also a big place. Huge in fact. I know because I've driven pretty much the length of it more times than I care to remember. It is also one of the best places to own a 4x4. Why ? We have islands, beaches, national parks, commercial 4x4 parks and lots and lots and lots of places where there isn't another person for at least an hours drive. Good eh ? Well it is until you get stuck but thats the price of solitude ... or having no friends :(
I thought I'd put a local clock at the top of this page and the local weather. I've got good reasons for just about everything or so I tell myself (and others) and this is no exception. The clock is so that you know what time it is here. That means if I'm in one of the yahoo Kia Club pages chatting and its after midnight local time here, you're probably keeping me up and with possible dire consequences for me if its a work day coming up. The weather part ? So I can tell you its 32 degrees C and I'm off to take the Sportage along the beach. If its over 35 I'll be right here. Yep I have air-con and I'm not moving. For anybody.
